Providing relief wherever we can

The Bertha Project's main focus is to provide assistance to communities affected by natural disasters. However, they can also be deployed to large indoor and outdoor events as part of their LES (Large Event Stand-by) program.

Their effectiveness and utilization at prominent public gatherings like the Daytona 500, Indy 500, Preakness, New Year's Eve celebration in New York City's Times Square, and potentially the Super Bowl are crucial aspects to consider.

“IF AN INCIDENT EVER TAKES PLACE WE CAN HELP”

During such events, there is often a significant number of individuals who have successfully escaped hazardous areas but are fatigued and dehydrated due to the arduous journey to safety. Although these individuals may not require immediate medical attention, providing them with basic essentials like a pocket first-aid kit, a Mylar blanket, a bottle of water, or a granola snack bar can provide a much-needed energy boost.

It is important to acknowledge the individuals who managed to flee danger during major incidents like the tragic occurrence at the Route 91 Harvest music festival in Las Vegas on October 1, 2017, without becoming part of the official casualty count. Such eventgoers often require fundamental necessities such as water, comforting items for warmth and comfort, and access to cool water for immediate use. Additionally, non-emergency situations like muddy conditions, broken glass, scraped knees, or foreign objects in the eyes frequently arise when evacuating hazardous areas.

Typically, individuals seeking assistance for these emotional and minor physical injuries tend to gather at the periphery of large-scale events. This is where the deployment of Bertha and Kiki pulling our custom Oasis One water trailer can become exceptionally valuable, as they can effectively cater to the needs of these victims.

By providing on-site support at public events attended by thousands of people, Bertha and Kiki serve a fundamental role in addressing the immediate requirements of eventgoers. Furthermore, this approach aligns with The Bertha Project's overarching objective of serving the public by offering water, snacks, Mylar blankets, and pocket first-aid kits to those who are not classified as critical care cases and find their selves stranded for hours without food, water, or transportation.

Many individuals will appreciate these simple items as they seek alternative methods away from the event, considering that most vehicles remain inaccessible for hours to come following an incident that needs to be investigated. We at The Bertha Project hope that disaster never occurs at these types of venues, but we are dedicated to offering our services to be deployed and on stand-by on the outer edges, ready to serve.

It's been predicted that some 2 billion people, or more than a fifth of the population, will be exposed to dangerously hot temperatures by the end of this century. We can only assume that heat-related emergencies will increase over time at large public events where additional hydration is not offered to the public. We at The Bertha Project are in preparation for the inevitable.
